Protect Your Patients from Harmful Blue Light

What is Blue Light?
Emitted by the sun and also by artificial light sources such as LED screens found on computers and smartphones, blue light is the range of the visible light spectrum with wavelengths between 380-500nm.

Blue light, including the wavelengths 415-455nm, observed as the colors violet-blue through light blue, is located closest to UV and may have a harmful effect on the eyes.

Important Blue Light Concerns:

  • Violet and blue are the shortest, highest energy visible wavelengths that scatter easily, reducing contrast, sharpness and clarity
  • High-energy blue light and UV can cause retinal damage leading to age related macular degeneration and cataracts
  • Many of the newest electronic devices emit significant blue light

bluDEFENSE reflects harmful blue light away allowing beneficial light to pass through.
